Euro Pool System, one of the largest logistics service providers specializing in returnable and reusable packaging, required a quick and highly customized renovation of an existing facility.
Challenge
Timing was of utmost importance because Euro Pool System needed to begin operations as quickly as possible. Euro Pool System required a site close to its main customer, easy access to major highways for national and international distribution, and expansion capabilities within the park.
Solution
Euro Pool System chose a 13,100 square meter facility at Prologis Park Prague-Uzice to optimize its clients’ logistics operations by helping them reduce costs and expedite delivery. Prologis Park Prague-Uzice is located 9 kilometers north of Prague with excellent access to the D8 motorway, a major route between Prague, the German border and the international Port of Hamburg. The park also features fast and efficient access to Prague’s Vodochody Airport.
Prologis guided Euro Pool System through the entire project cycle—from design and layout through completion. This included the tendering process, monitoring the budget and ensuring the project management team's compliance with Above Standard Tenant Improvements (ASTI). Prologis provided early access to allow the installation of machinery and finished the facility before deadline.
Throughout the project, the design considered environmental and economic factors with a view to help the company expand manufacturing capacity. Key features in the baling press area include new pits for conveyor belts, epoxy coating on the floor slab with a full drain system, additional dock levelers and a drive-in gate. In the washing line area, the construction incorporates a floor slab with a 1.5-percent slope and full drain system with epoxy coating, as well as new technical rooms for washing installation, an external foundation, and connections for sludge containers and a boiler. The building also has a new office for manufacturing staff and an expansion of the existing office that includes new air conditioning and high-voltage backup for information technology systems.
